LATYS x Groupe MISA:
Powering Connectivity in Mines

Vortex Journey – LATYS & Groupe MISA

We’re excited to share that LATYS has partnered with Groupe MISA through the Vortex Journey – IoT Chapter, supporting the industrialization of LATYS FOCUS for mining applications.

This collaboration represents a major milestone in our journey within the mining sector, where LATYS FOCUS has already proven its value in underground trials by delivering:

  • More reliable connectivity

  • Faster speeds

  • Performance tailored to the critical needs of mining operations

Through this program, LATYS has secured $443,718 in non-dilutive funding, bringing the total project value to $887,425. This investment strengthens our mission to transform connectivity in mines and beyond. 🎉

A special thank you goes out to our partners — Groupe MISA and Canadian Royalties Inc. — for their trust and collaboration.

LATYS FOCUS

As digital transformation accelerates across the mining industry, connectivity has become a critical enabler of automation, real-time data, worker safety, and asset performance. Yet, mine sites remain among the most challenging environments for ensuring stable, fast, and reliable communications.

LATYS is addressing this challenge with a next-generation wireless communication platform, powered by smart antenna technology and Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS). Our breakthrough solution is designed to radically improve wireless coverage and performance in mines — enabling safer, more efficient, and more automated operations.

Recognition from Groupe MISA

Groupe MISA recently highlighted LATYS FOCUS in their blog, showcasing how our technology provides low-latency, reliable connectivity to meet the demanding requirements of mining operations. With support from MISA’s VORTEX program, LATYS FOCUS is positioned as a game-changing solution driving safety, efficiency, and digital transformation across the sector.

As they noted:

“According to a 2023 PwC report, more than 70% of global mining companies plan to increase their investments in digital technologies over the next three years. Key areas of focus include integration of connected systems, real-time visibility, asset optimization, and downtime reduction. The global smart mining technology market is projected to exceed USD 25 billion by 2030, with an average annual growth rate of 14%. Within this context, LATYS’ solution directly addresses the rising demand for high-performance communication infrastructure.”
